Have you ever come across an Eastern Bluetongue Lizard?

These fascinating creatures have a cool fact: despite their name, they're not the fastest movers and prefer slow-moving prey. Their scientific name is Tiliqua multifasciata, but let's just call them Eastern Bluetongue Lizards.

Did you know? These creatures aren’t the most agile, and mostly eat only slow-moving animals.

Here's something neat about them: Eastern Bluetongue Lizards are doing well in terms of conservation, listed as "Least Concern."

You'll typically find these lizards in various habitats, from woodlands to suburban gardens.

At Kanyana, we have a special resident named Tilly. She arrived in 2011 after being discovered on a sea container that arrived in Perth from Sydney. Since her origins are unknown, she can never return to the wild. But she's found a new home at Kanyana, where she helps educate visitors about the amazing world of Eastern Bluetongue Lizards.

Next time you visit Kanyana, make sure to say hello to Tilly and learn more about these wonderful creatures!
